En 2021, el Puerto de Barcelona probó dos drones acuáticos diseñados y fabricados por GPASEABOTS. La misión fue parte de un proyecto conjunto para crear un dron acuático capaz de dar respuesta a las necesidades del puerto en cuanto a hidrografía, análisis de agua, vigilancia, investigación, vigilancia y rescate (SAR) y limpieza.

3 bathymetric surveys in 3 days in Mallorca

With a SB 100 PRO equipped with a WASSP Multibeam Echo-sounder S3R, GPASEABOTS carried out three missions in only three days, at coves and ports along the coast of Majorca. These operations included bathymetric surveys, seabed mapping, location of mooring piles and seagrass mapping. Find out more about this case study here.

Underwater inspections require costly resources, involve risk to people and gathers unclear information quite often. They are carried out by diving or by means of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), although these devices only incorporate video.  
Thanks to SEABOTS' robotization and digitization solutions, three-dimensional models can be acquired through digital twins, that is, digital representations of a physical object, process or service, as is the case with some engines. These virtual replicas are used to carry out simulations before they are created and before changes are applied to real objects, to collect data that will help to predict how they will work.

The SEABOTS value proposition consists of automating the data acquisition process with robots. The information collected serves as the basis for the generation of a high-resolution three-dimensional model, with a brief post-processing time.  The main advantages are the reduction in terms of maintenance cost and risk, as well as gathering a large amount of high-quality data. To carry out the operation, SEABOTS uses its data platform, an online platform that allows checking data from anywhere in the world, managing access to it and taking measurements with a centimetric resolution.
